This formula normalizes your salary based on the purchasing power in each country.
Note: The Cost of Living Index is an average measure and may not reflect exact prices in specific cities or neighborhoods.
Understanding the Cost of Living Index
The Cost of Living Index (COLI) is a numerical representation of the relative cost of living in different countries. It's based on a variety of factors including:
- Housing costs (rent, utilities, maintenance)
- Food and dining out
- Transportation
- Healthcare
- Childcare
- Education
- Entertainment and leisure activities
A COLI of 100 represents the average cost of living in the United States. Countries with a COLI higher than 100 have a higher cost of living, while those with a lower COLI have a lower cost of living.
