How to Use This Calculator

Enter your clock-in and clock-out times for each day, including any lunch breaks or other non-working periods. The calculator will subtract these breaks from your total hours to give you your actual working time.

For each day, enter:

  • Clock-in time
  • Clock-out time
  • Lunch break duration (if applicable)
  • Other break durations (if applicable)

Click "Calculate" to see your total working hours for the day, week, or pay period.

Formula Used

The calculator uses this formula for each day:

Working Hours = (Clock-out Time - Clock-in Time) - (Lunch Break + Other Breaks)

For multiple days, the calculator sums the working hours for each day.

All times are calculated in hours and minutes, with partial hours rounded to the nearest minute.

Worked Example

Let's calculate working hours for a day with these inputs:

  • Clock-in: 8:30 AM
  • Clock-out: 5:15 PM
  • Lunch break: 30 minutes
  • Other breaks: 15 minutes

First, calculate the total time between clock-in and clock-out:

5:15 PM - 8:30 AM = 8 hours and 45 minutes

Then subtract the breaks:

8 hours 45 minutes - 30 minutes (lunch) - 15 minutes (other) = 8 hours 0 minutes

So the working hours for this day are 8 hours.
