Formula Used

The calculator uses the following formula to calculate total hours worked:

Total Hours = Σ (End Time - Start Time) for all work periods

Where Σ represents the sum of all work periods for the selected date range.

Worked Example

Let's calculate hours for an employee who worked the following shifts:

  • Monday: 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM (4 hours)
  • Monday: 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM (4 hours)
  • Tuesday: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM (8 hours)

Total hours worked: 4 + 4 + 8 = 16 hours
