Formula Used
The calculator uses the following formulas to determine your earnings:
Regular Pay = Regular Hours × Hourly Rate
Overtime Pay = Overtime Hours × (Hourly Rate × 1.5)
Total Earnings = Regular Pay + Overtime Pay
Where:
- Regular Hours = Sum of all regular hours worked each day
- Overtime Hours = Sum of all overtime hours worked each day
- Hourly Rate = Your wage per hour
Worked Example
Let's say you work 8 regular hours and 2 overtime hours each day for 10 days in a 2-week period. Your hourly rate is $15.
| Day | Regular Hours | Overtime Hours |
|---|---|---|
| Monday | 8 | 2 |
| Tuesday | 8 | 2 |
| Wednesday | 8 | 2 |
| Thursday | 8 | 2 |
| Friday | 8 | 2 |
| Saturday | 0 | 0 |
| Sunday | 0 | 0 |
| Monday | 8 | 2 |
| Tuesday | 8 | 2 |
| Wednesday | 8 | 2 |
| Thursday | 8 | 2 |
| Friday | 8 | 2 |
Calculations:
- Total Regular Hours = 8 × 10 days = 80 hours
- Total Overtime Hours = 2 × 10 days = 20 hours
- Regular Pay = 80 × $15 = $1,200
- Overtime Pay = 20 × ($15 × 1.5) = 20 × $22.50 = $450
- Total Earnings = $1,200 + $450 = $1,650
