Discount Levels
The Gold Card offers different discount levels depending on your age and the type of fare you purchase:
| Age | Discount on Anytime Single | Discount on Anytime Return |

| 60-64 | 1/3 | 1/3 |
| 65-74 | 1/3 | 2/3 |
| 75+ | 2/3 | 2/3 |
Note: The Gold Card does not apply to advance tickets, off-peak returns, or certain other fare types. Discounts are applied at the point of purchase.
Using the Calculator
Our calculator estimates your potential savings with the Gold Card. Simply enter your age, the type of fare you typically purchase, and the average price of your tickets to see how much you could save.
How the Calculation Works
Savings Calculation:
Savings = (Original Fare Price × Discount Percentage) × Number of Trips per Year
The calculator uses the discount percentages shown in the table above based on your age. It then multiplies this by the number of trips you take in a year to estimate your total annual savings.
Example Calculation
If you're 70 years old and take 100 Anytime Single tickets per year at an average price of £20 each:
Discount = 2/3 (75+ age group)
Savings per ticket = £20 × (2/3) = £13.33
Annual savings = £13.33 × 100 = £1,333
Worked Examples
Example 1: Senior Passenger
A 65-year-old takes 50 Anytime Return tickets per year at an average price of £40 each:
Discount = 2/3 (65-74 age group)
Savings per ticket = £40 × (2/3) = £26.67
Annual savings = £26.67 × 50 = £1,333.50
Example 2: Disabled Passenger
A disabled passenger takes 75 Anytime Single tickets per year at an average price of £18 each:
Discount = 2/3 (applies to all disabled passengers)
Savings per ticket = £18 × (2/3) = £12
Annual savings = £12 × 75 = £900
