Calculating Your Tax
The calculator uses the following formula to determine your Ontario income tax:

For each tax bracket, calculate the tax as:
Tax = (Upper Bracket Limit - Lower Bracket Limit) × Tax Rate
Sum the taxes from all applicable brackets to get the total tax liability.
For example, if you earn $50,000 as a single filer:
- $44,701 × 5.05% = $2,253.50
- ($50,000 - $44,701) × 9.15% = $526.49
- Total tax = $2,253.50 + $526.49 = $2,779.99
