Where φ is latitude, λ is longitude, R is Earth's radius (6,371 km), and Δ is the difference between the two points.

Estimated driving distance

The estimated driving distance is calculated by applying a factor to the straight-line distance based on typical road network efficiency. For the USA, we use a factor of approximately 1.25.
