Formula Explained

The power consumption of an air conditioning system is calculated using the following formula:

Power Consumption (kWh) = (Cooling Capacity ÷ 3.412) × (Usage Hours ÷ 1000) × (1 ÷ SEER)

  • SEER is the Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio
  • Usage Hours is the average daily usage in hours
